Miranda grew up with music and dance living in a tight-knit Indonesian community in Australia. She frequently found herself costumed and nudged on stage at gatherings and celebrations. As an adult she also followed her curiosity for dance to the world of flamenco, chasing duende and counting on 12, 3, 6, 8 & 10. Moving to New York in 2011, she was drawn back to her roots by a fellow Australian and gamelan musician. Inspired by the dynamism and earnest creativity of Gamelan Dharma Swara, she joined the ensemble in late 2013 and continues to discover the ever-challenging beauty of Balinese dance. In her other life, Miranda shows up at an architecture practice five mornings of the week – where she strives to save the world one library or school at a time.
