Our Program

The Summer Institute in Balinese Performance features:

  • daily hands-on workshops taught by master Balinese artists
  • seminars related to Balinese performance
  • special group events

Attendees focus on 2 different performance areas during the week — daily schedule includes one morning workshop and one afternoon workshop.

With both beginning and advanced workshop spaces available, the Institute welcomes participants with all levels of experience.*


Our Artists

All dance and music workshops are taught by internationally renowned Balinese artists, including musicians Dewa Ketut Alit, Ida Bagus Made Widnyana, Gusti Nyoman “Komin” Darta, and Dewa Ketut Alit “Tejur” Adnyana, and dancers Cokorda Istri Putri Rukmini and Made Suteja.

Our Venue

The Summer Institute in Balinese Performance will be hosted at the College of the Holy Cross in centrally-located Worcester, Massachusetts.

Workshop and rehearsal facilities include the newly-renovated Brooks Concert Hall and O’Kane Dance Studio, as well as classrooms, practice rooms, and meeting spaces.

Worcester is easily accessible by major highways, bus lines, and connecting train service. Dedicated shuttle service will be available from Boston Logan (MA) and Manchester (NH) airports.

Program Fees

Program fees include registration, workshops, seminars, and special events.

Choose from two options featuring full room and board, or register as a commuter (includes daily lunch).

Early registration discounts are available until April 30!

$200 deposit (non-refundable) is due at registration. Balance is due by July 1.  Registrations after July 1 require full payment up-front.

 


* Participants between the ages of 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
