Charlie first encountered gamelan recordings as a teenager in South Carolina and first heard gamelan performed live by Gamelan Dharma Swara in 2015. Having never forgotten the experience, he joined Gamelan Dharma Swara in 2023.  

Charlie lives in Brooklyn, NY and works in the asset management industry. Charlie studied International Business and Finance at the University of South Carolina, spending time at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
