CHRIS MATTHAY

Chris teaches music theory at NYU. His research interests include Balinese music, North Indian Classical music, and sonata form in 18th-century European music. As a jazz trumpet player, he has performed with Cecil Taylor and Anthony Braxton. He has been involved with Balinese music for twenty years, and has made several study trips to Bali. He currently co-teaches the music side of the Dharma Swara group.
