BE A PART OF OUR KECAK PROJECT!

Your friendly neighborhood gamelan ensemble is looking to expand their community engagement with the mission to participate thoughtfully in the evolution of Balinese arts. This year we invite you as our community of audiences to participate in an artistic project with us.  
 
We have commissioned our artist-in-residence, Gusti Komin to compose a work based on the Kecak, a traditional Balinese vocal art form. Don’t know what it is? Perhaps you have seen Baraka.
 
This project will culminate in a premier at Hunters Point Park, Long Island City in September 2019. Sound interesting? We will be hosting a few Kecak workshops beginning this Sunday. Learn the basics of Balinese music and movement, be directly involved in our mission, and become a performer with us!
