WELCOMING SPRING WITH A BANG! Celebrate with Balinese gamelan and dance at the Stone Circle Theatre. This all-ages event is opened by The Cradle, and will have Indonesian street food by Mas Budi and Bunda's Jamu for sale.
This series will cover a brief history of Balinese dance and the different styles of the movement form. We’ll also visit ideas of musicality and the important connection between Balinese dance and gamelan music. No previous experience required — all are welcome!

We're welcoming the community to DS’ Queens HQ for a taste of the Balinese performing arts! Free, family-friendly activities - gamelan & dance workshops, as well as puppet-making. Take home some fun merch. All are welcome!

WELCOMING SPRING at this all-ages, fundraising event at the Stone Circle Theatre. We’re joined by Body Meπa — luminaries at the intersection of improvised music, rock, jazz, fusion, and contemporary classical music.
We are hosting a free introductory workshop geared towards children ages 9+. The workshop will cover the basics of Balinese music while empowering players with confidence, teaching effective collaboration, and encouraging creative expression in a fun and communal environment.

Opening the show will be duo, Lubomir Smilenov on kaba gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe) and Matt Moran on tupan (Balkan drum). Our two groups recently had the pleasure of playing at the Ragas Live festival at Pioneer Works. Lubomir and Matt blew us away so much with their set that we had to invite them to play with us.

Gamelan Dharma Swara premieres a welcome dance piece reimagined for a New York gamelan by artist-in-residence Gusti Komin and dancer Shoko Yamamuro. The premiere will be presented in the spirit of the celebration of ‘Tumpek Krulut’ – a holy occasion for the blessing of instruments, ensuring continued sacred sounds and harmony.
